About Christ RPC.

Christ Reformed Presbyterian Church is a congregation that serves Jesus Christ in the Reformed (or Calvinist) tradition. We have deep roots in the Scottish Reformation and in the historic, apostolic Christian faith. We take the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be our ultimate authority in faith and life. Our worship is both serious and joyful, our community is tight-knit, and we have a heritage of courage and long-term faithfulness.

We currently welcome members from all over Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut; including East Providence, Riverside, Barrington, Seekonk, Rehoboth, Swansea, Norton, Warren, Pawtucket, Mansfield, Franklin, Cranston, North Kingstown, Warwick, Narragansett, Groton, and Waterford! We would love for you to join us and be a part of our community.

Christ RPC was started as a new church plant in 2006 with support from our "mother" church in Cambridge, MA. We have been gathering together since to worship, study the bible, serve those in need, and fellowship together. The Lord has blessed our work here as we strive to live as followers of Jesus Christ in the Providence metro area. We have many ministry opportunities and need more help, so if you are interested in learning more about God's word or are looking for a loving community seeking to serve others, come check us out!

We are Christians: we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the crucified and risen Lord. We believe that God calls all people to receive his free gift of salvation through faith, repentance of sin, and receiving the sign of baptism. As Reformed Christians, we emphasize the holiness of God and his authority over every part of faith and life.

As Presbyterians, our church is cared for by a board of pastors and elders, not just one man, and is overseen by pastors and elders from our region and internationally (our Presbytery and Synod). What this means is that if there’s a dispute in our church, we can get help from outside in dealing with it. It also means that we don’t make all of our own rules, or decide on our own guidelines for teaching. Our doctrines and standards for conduct and church order are primarily found in the 1648 Westminster Confession and Catechisms. See our beliefs page for more info.
